Attempt Made To Set Fire To Facility Storing Starlink Equipment In Lithuania

Unknown individuals attempted to set fire to a facility storing Starlink satellite communications equipment in Lithuania on Sunday night. The country’s Prime Minister, Mindaugas Sinkevičius, reported this on Facebook.

“Another incident occurred last night, shortly after midnight: an attempt was made to set fire to a facility in Lithuania where Starlink communications equipment is stored. The relevant services had previously warned the company about the possibility of such attacks, and security measures had been strengthened, which prevented the attack from succeeding,” he wrote.

According to the prime minister, Lithuanian services are closely monitoring the activities of hostile states and taking measures to protect people and their property.

“As for the drone that flew over Lithuanian territory this morning, the possibility of sabotage must be seriously considered. I am convening a meeting of the National Security Commission tomorrow. It is extremely important to establish where the drone came from and when it was first detected by radar. The results of the debris analysis conducted by the relevant services will also be crucial. In addition, we will discuss granting these services additional powers to neutralize drones,” he said.
