Armenia has received a letter from Russia regarding the possible termination of an agreement on supplies of natural gas, petroleum products and rough diamonds. The country’s Foreign Ministry confirmed this, writes Interfax.
“As of 3:00 p.m., a letter addressed to the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure has been received. It has been forwarded, will be reviewed, and the Armenian side will respond as necessary,” the foreign ministry said.
Earlier, the Kommersant newspaper reported that Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov warned Yerevan about the possible suspension or termination of the 2013 agreement if Armenia continues its course toward joining the European Union. According to the newspaper, the letter was sent on May 25.
