Another Group of US Troops to Arrive in Lithuania

Another 200 US military personnel are expected to arrive in Lithuania today. A further 100 soldiers arrived in the country earlier. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda announced this.

“We already have a rotational deployment of US troops in Lithuania, with around 120 military personnel currently stationed there. As far as I know, more than 200 troops will arrive today, meaning that by mid-November we will have nearly a third of the planned number,” he said on Žinių radijas.

More than 1,000 US military personnel are expected to arrive in Lithuania as part of the rotational troop deployment.

For years, the United States has been rotationally deploying a contingent equipped with heavy weapons at the training ground in Pabradė, 15 km from the Belarusian border. This year, however, the rotation was delayed amid the Pentagon’s review of US troop deployments in Europe.
