Siarhei Aleinik, chair of the Standing Commission on International Affairs and National Security of the Council of the Republic, met with Ludovic Royer, France’s chargé d’affaires ad interim in Belarus.
According to the Council of the Republic’s press service, “the parties focused on the current state and prospects of Belarusian-French dialogue, issues of trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, as well as the results of Royer’s diplomatic mission.”
Aleinik stressed that maintaining constructive and pragmatic dialogue remains a fundamental element of bilateral engagement regardless of the current geopolitical situation. He also emphasized the need to preserve open channels of communication to foster mutual respect, identify common ground and promote the gradual development of cultural and humanitarian ties.
