Agricultural Production Rises 6.5% in January-August

Agricultural production in Belarus across all categories of farms increased by 6.5% in January-August to 25.5 billion rubles, Belstat reported. In agricultural organizations, it rose by 5.9% to 22.7 billion rubles.

Production of livestock and poultry in agricultural organizations increased by 5.3% to 1.24 million tonnes, milk production rose by 2.8% to 6.23 million tonnes, and egg production increased by 1.1% to 2.3 billion eggs.

As of September 1, 7.5 million tonnes of grain had been harvested, with an average yield of 37.8 centners per hectare. The rapeseed harvest amounted to 1.4 million tonnes, 1.5 times more than last year.
