Agricultural Enterprise Director in Homiel Region Suspected of Selling Hay at the Company’s Expense

The director of an agricultural enterprise in the Homiel Region is suspected of illegally using company machinery to harvest and sell hay to private individuals. He shared the proceeds with an accomplice and gave some of the money to subordinates in exchange for their silence.

According to the Belarusian Interior Ministry said, the 35-year-old manager acted in collusion with a local resident. At his direction, company employees used machinery entrusted to them to bale, load and transport hay from fields owned by private individuals. To conceal the misuse of vehicles and the write-off of fuel and lubricants, knowingly false information was systematically entered into vehicle logbooks.

The harvested hay was sold, and the proceeds were split equally. The director spent part of his share on personal needs and distributed the remaining money among subordinates to keep them from revealing what was happening.

The prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case on suspicion of abuse of authority or official powers.
