Deputy editor-in-chief of Poland’s Gazeta Wyborcza Bartosz Wieliński published a photograph of Andrzej Poczobut taken in Hrodna today.
“Above the Neman. Andrzej Poczobut in the lead role,” Wieliński captioned the photograph.
He also added a quote from the former political prisoner: “Behind me are the former barracks of the 81st Infantry Regiment. The city’s last line of defence in September 1939.”
Poczobut himself also posted a photograph taken on the banks of the Neman in Hrodna on his X account.
Today, Gazeta Wyborcza reported that former political prisoner and journalist Andrzej Poczobut, as he had promised, returned to Belarus. He crossed the Polish-Belarusian border before noon. Poczobut plans to meet with his family and fellow members of the Union of Poles in Belarus. The newspaper reported that the trip will last a week.
