Minsktrans refused to approve bus schedules for the Minsk–Białystok–Warsaw and Minsk–Vilnius routes operated by carrier Vadjen Trans, and the Minsk–Warsaw route operated by carrier Sandita. Without such approval, the carriers could not obtain permits to operate international services.
“However, the carriers’ schedules were not approved, while similar schedules with matching or minimal intervals between departures had previously been approved for other carriers,” the ministry reported.
The carriers filed complaints with MART, which reviewed their appeals. The ministry found signs that Minsktrans had violated the laws “On Natural Monopolies” and “On Counteracting Monopolistic Activity and Developing Competition”.
Warnings were issued to the company. According to the ministry, Minsktrans promptly addressed the shortcomings.
