Poland Again Extends Suspension of Right to Seek Asylum at Belarusian Border

Poland’s Sejm has once again extended the suspension of the right to apply for international protection at the border with Belarus. The vote took place on November 6. A total of 425 MPs voted in favour of the extension, while 17 voted against.

The restriction will remain in force for 60 days starting November 17.

Poland restricted the right to apply for asylum at the border with Belarus in March 2025. Since then, the restriction has been regularly extended.
