A total of 40,971 people have been included on Poland’s list of foreigners whose stay in the country is considered undesirable, Rzeczpospolita reports, citing the Office for Foreigners.

In the first nine months of this year, 19,738 people were added to the list. Most are included in connection with criminal offences.

Ukrainian citizens account for the largest group, with 14,300 people, followed by citizens of Georgia (more than 4,000), Russia (more than 3,500) and Belarus (more than 2,300). Syrian citizens rank fifth, with 1,477 people. Most of those listed are migrants detained after illegally crossing the Belarusian-Polish border.
