A Woman Detained at the Border With 3.46 Grams of Marijuana and Hashish

Belarus’ State Customs Committee has reported foiling an “attempt to bring drugs into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union.” It turned out that the substances involved were 3.46 grams of marijuana and hashish.

The substances were found on a 49-year-old female passenger on a Wrocław–Homiel bus traveling through the Brest checkpoint.

According to the State Customs Committee, a sniffer dog indicated that prohibited substances might be located on the passenger seat occupied by the woman. A visual inspection revealed nothing.

The next time, the dog pointed to the passenger herself in the inspection area.

“When directly asked by a customs officer whether she had any prohibited substances on her, she answered in the negative. During a search, a plastic container wrapped in a sock and containing substances resembling drugs was found in an inner pocket of the woman’s jacket,” the statement said.

An examination confirmed that the substances were marijuana and hashish.

A criminal case has been opened.
