Aliaksandr Lukashenka sent congratulations to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva on his victory in the presidential election. He was re-elected for another term.

Lukashenka noted that voters had demonstrated their confidence in Lula da Silva’s course towards “building a strong and independent socially oriented state that independently chooses its own development path”. He expressed confidence that under the Brazilian president’s leadership, Brazil would “continue confidently along the path of strengthening its sovereignty and standing on the international stage”.

“You can continue to count on Belarus as a reliable and responsible partner committed to expanding strong bilateral relations based on the principles of mutual respect and friendship for the well-being of our peoples and the establishment of a just world order,” Lukashenka assured him.
