Conscripts Begin Reporting for Military Service in Belarus

The dispatch of citizens conscripted for compulsory military service to military units begins in Belarus on October 22, the country’s Defence Ministry has announced.

Today, around 1,000 people will be sent to the special operations forces, the Minsk Military Commandant’s Office, the 72nd Guards Joint Training Centre and the 361st Security and Maintenance Base.

In total, around 10,000 people will be assigned to staff the Armed Forces and other troops and military formations.

This year, around 600 people are also expected to be assigned to serve in the reserves.

The military oath ceremony is scheduled for November 21.
