U.S. President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to Oslo, where he will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European leaders, Axios reports, citing U.S. officials.

According to the officials, after the talks in Oslo, Witkoff plans to fly to Moscow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He is expected to present Putin with proposals developed in Oslo.

Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and representatives of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Poland, the European Union and NATO are expected to take part in the talks with Trump’s envoy in the Norwegian capital. Together, they will seek to develop a new peace proposal.

Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has fallen ill and will participate in the meetings by video link.

According to the publication, the discussions will focus on two tracks. The first involves security guarantees for Ukraine, its European integration and postwar economic assistance. The second concerns establishing the conditions for lasting peace, including a new and sustainable security architecture in Europe.

Another goal of Witkoff’s mission to Russia will be to secure the release of U.S. citizen Stephen Hubbard.
