Poland deployed military aircraft in its airspace in response to Russian drone strikes targeting locations in western Ukraine. The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces reported this.

In accordance with established procedures, the command, through the Air Operations Center — Air Component Command, deployed the necessary forces and assets. Ground-based air defense and radar reconnaissance systems were placed on alert.

“These measures are preventive in nature and are aimed at ensuring security and protecting Polish airspace, particularly in areas adjacent to territories under threat,” the statement said.

The Operational Command continues to monitor the situation. The forces and assets under its command remain ready to respond.
