Customs officers at the Brest checkpoint found 311 packages of veterinary medicines in the luggage of a 46-year-old scheduled bus driver arriving from Poland. The Belarusian citizen had attempted to bring the goods into Belarus without declaring them.

During customs clearance, the driver submitted a passenger declaration listing only a garment steamer. When asked whether he had any other goods that required declaration, he answered no. Customs officers in Brest later established that a black backpack found in one of the rooms within the checkpoint belonged to the driver. It contained veterinary medicines worth approximately 243,000 rubles.

The man was held administratively liable under Part 2 of Article 15.1 of the Code of Administrative Offences. He was fined 20 basic units, and the undeclared goods were confiscated, the State Customs Committee reported.
