The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) exercises “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026” and “Barrier 2026” have concluded in Belarus. They were held at the Losvida and Staradarozhsky training grounds.

“The units conducted a peacekeeping operation on the territory of a hypothetical CSTO member state and carried out tasks to maintain a ceasefire between the conflicting parties. They also ensured compliance with the truce: they took control of their area of responsibility, separated the opposing sides and secured the situation in the crisis zone,” the Defence Ministry wrote, describing the peacekeeping exercise “Indestructible Brotherhood 2026”.

The “Barrier 2026” exercise focused on eliminating sources of biological threats and ensuring biological security.

Contingents from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan took part in the exercises. They included military units, internal affairs and national guard units, as well as operational groups from the CSTO Joint Staff and Secretariat. The Russian military contingent was primarily made up of units from the Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District. More than 1,500 military personnel and over 300 pieces of weaponry, military and special equipment were involved, including around 80 different types of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
