Belinvestbank to Receive Compensation on Loan to Homiel Chemical Plant for Export Production

The Council of Ministers of Belarus has ordered compensation for Belinvestbank’s losses incurred in providing a loan to the Homiel Chemical Plant to produce goods for export. The compensation will be paid from the national budget. The relevant resolution, No. 520 of October 15, was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal.

The loan is being provided as a multi-currency revolving credit line with a limit of 45 million Belarusian rubles.

For the ruble-denominated portion of the credit line, the bank will receive compensation equivalent to four-fifths of the National Bank’s refinancing rate.

For funds denominated in yuan, the compensation will be based on the one-year Loan Prime Rate (1-year LPR) set by the People’s Bank of China, plus 1.25 percentage points.

For funds denominated in US dollars, compensation will be calculated based on the Commercial Interest Reference Rates (CIRRs), plus 1.25 percentage points.
