Aliaksandr Lukashenka believes people have been frightened by artificial intelligence and promises to get to grips with it.

“I look at today’s young people. I often criticize them a little. Why are we pandering to young people?! They sit there poking at their phones, making TikToks, and so on. They still have a lot to learn. The whole nation has been frightened by artificial intelligence. Relax, we’ll sort out intelligence and everything else. But we will make sure your children are all right,” Lukashenka said during a visit to the urban settlement of Asveya on October 15.

Lukashenka also explained whom he means when he refers to “the president’s people”: those who have children in their families.

“The main thing is that you, the parents, understand this: the most important people to me are those who have had children, those who have children in their families. They immediately begin to understand what life is all about,” Lukashenka said.

He urged those present to preserve rural life and said the state would “help little by little” to ensure that children in villages receive the same quality of education as those in cities.

Lukashenka complained that he receives letters from people asking for help for parents of three children and promised that support for large families would continue. It is worth recalling that Lukashenka has repeatedly said that a third child in a family is “his.”

“I am not shirking responsibility for the third child. The truth is, I’m now getting a flood of letters: ‘Aliaksandr Ryhoravich, you promised, and I have three children.’ Well, we help. Some people have given birth to three children at once. There are only a few of them, several dozen. We allocated housing to them. Carrying and giving birth to three children is not easy.

We would give an apartment to families with three children anyway. We no longer even have a waiting list for large families to get housing (housing. — BELTA note) — they receive it within a year. When has that ever happened? Never. And we are not a wealthy country. But I do this for you, for the children. We will not abandon this policy,” Lukashenka said.
