Belarus Participates in Verification Activity Under Dayton Agreement

Belarus is taking part in a verification activity under the Dayton Agreement.

“Thanks to the unwavering support of the Serbian side, Belarus is represented at another verification activity under the Dayton Agreement. From October 13 to 16, a member of the Armed Forces, serving as an OSCE guest observer, is accompanying an inspection group from Bosnia and Herzegovina on the territory of Serbia,” said Valery Revenka, head of the International Military Cooperation Department and assistant to the defense minister for international military cooperation.

The Dayton Agreement is a 1995 peace accord that ended the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Under the verification mechanism, the OSCE monitors the parties’ compliance with restrictions on armaments and the size of their armed forces.
