Polish prosecutors have closed the investigation into the incursion of Russian drones in September 2025.

As Marcin Kozak, a spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lublin, said, the investigation was closed because it was impossible to establish the identity of the suspect. Most of the case files, including the reasoning behind the decision to close the investigation, have been classified.

In the early hours of Sept. 10, more than 30 Gerbera-type drones entered Polish airspace. They were later detected at 27 locations across the country.

The investigation also examined the Polish military’s response to the drone attack. Prosecutors unequivocally concluded that the military had responded appropriately and in accordance with existing procedures.

As RMF24 reports, Polish SIM cards were found in some of the drones. However, the case files are classified, so it is not known how the cards were obtained — whether they were stolen or purchased.
