Belarusian Railway Appoints New Deputy Head

Aliaksandr Khomchanka has been appointed deputy head of the state-run Belarusian Railway. The relevant order was signed by Belarusian Railway head Valery Viarenich.

Khomchanka will oversee ideological, personnel and social work, the operation and development of civil structures, as well as matters related to the management and disposal of state property.

Khomchanka was born in 1977. In 2006, he graduated from the Belarusian State University of Transport with a degree in Transport Traffic Management and Organization. In 2016, he obtained a degree in Economics and Enterprise Management from the Academy of Public Administration under the President.

Khomchanka has worked for Belarusian Railway since 1999. From 2019 until his new appointment, he headed the Vitsyebsk branch of Belarusian Railway.

The previous deputy head of Belarusian Railway responsible for these areas, Pyotr Stotski, held the position for 16 years. He retired on October 6.
