Belarusian Prosecutor General Dzmitry Hora said the country has recorded a record-low crime rate.

According to him, the number of registered crimes in the country fell by 13% in 2025. This year, it has dropped by more than 8% further. As a result, the crime rate is at its lowest level in the past 30 years.

Hora delivered a report to the National Assembly today.

He also noted that cybercrime accounts for 30% of registered crimes. Last year, its share was 27%.

“Artificial intelligence technology is being actively used, as are virtual telephone stations that allow calls to be made from anywhere in the world while displaying Belarusian numbers (GSM gateways, SIM boxes). Law enforcement must achieve a similar level of digitalization. We must promptly introduce advanced technologies into our practices — this is a basic condition for ensuring security in the 21st century,” he said.

According to Hora, it is necessary to expand the range of entities involved in preventing such offenses, define their powers, establish a system for assessing the quality of their work, and adopt relevant regulations.
