Mud Therapy and Massage — “Veterans” of Russia’s War in Ukraine From Kherson Region Sent to Belarusian Sanatorium

Military personnel from Kherson region who fought on Russia’s side, as well as family members of those killed or missing in action, are undergoing treatment in Belarus. The occupation government of Kherson region reported this on September 12, while human rights defenders from MAYDAY.TEAM drew attention to the report.

The treatment is taking place at the Viazhuty sanatorium in the Maladzyechna District. Russian military personnel are being offered aromatherapy, mud therapy and massage.

“This is not simply ‘a vacation’ in the usual sense. It is a reset. Every day is scheduled: treatments, rest, walks,” one of the former servicemen said.

According to the occupation authorities of Kherson region, three “veterans” and the wife of a fallen serviceman have completed the rehabilitation course this year.
