https://reform.news/en/minsktrans-responds-to-complaints-about-public-transport/Minsk residents have complained about disruptions to public transport services. Minsktrans attributed the delays to difficult traffic conditions and operational issues, Minsk-Novosti reports.
Residents of the capital wrote on Threads about problems with buses No. 175S and No. 130, as well as trolleybuses No. 29 and No. 61. In particular, passengers complained that vehicles did not arrive at the scheduled time and that they were not informed about delays.
Minsktrans explained that during rush hours, difficult traffic conditions reduce travel speeds and increase journey times. In addition, delays may occur directly on routes for operational reasons.
“Electronic displays installed at stops, as well as the Virtual Display service, a link to which is available on the homepage of minsktrans.by, provide information on the estimated actual arrival time of vehicles at stops, as well as route timetables,” the company said.
When delays occur, the system recalculates the waiting time. If it is impossible to determine precisely how long a vehicle will be delayed by traffic congestion, the designation “ZT,” meaning “transport delay,” appears next to the route, Minsktrans explained.
In particular, delays to trolleybuses No. 29 and No. 61 on Surhanava and Karla Chornaha streets can reach 30 minutes. Minsktrans noted that this information is displayed on electronic boards.
The company also commented on the situation in Barauliany, where a large number of passengers gathered at one of the stops on the morning of October 1 because no public transport had arrived for an extended period. Heavy traffic and congestion were also cited as the cause.
“During periods of maximum road network congestion, there is a high probability of traffic jams, which leads to delays on public transport routes,” Minsktrans said.
