The Belarusian KGB has updated its list of individuals allegedly involved in “terrorist activities.” Viktar Huryin, first deputy director general of Belwest, and six other people have been added to the list.

The 57-year-old Huryin was sentenced on August 3, 2026, to 3.5 years in a high-security penal colony and a fine of 600 base units. According to the Viasna Human Rights Center, in 2020–2021 he posted comments in Telegram groups criticizing the actions of security forces and Aliaksandr Lukashenka.

In addition to Huryin, the updated list includes Zhanna Yaskuld, Heorhi Parakhonko, Tatsiana Khabarava, Dzianis Darashevich, Halina Ustiuhova and Viktar Maska.

The KGB’s “terrorist list” now includes 1,470 people, 719 of whom are Belarusian citizens.

Belarusian authorities use accusations of extremism and terrorism to target political opponents and dissent more broadly.
