Belarus Has Deported 3,000 Foreign Nationals Since the Start of the Year

Since the beginning of 2026, Belarus has deported 3,000 foreign nationals. Another 2,000 foreign citizens have been denied entry. Belarusian Interior Minister Ivan Kubrakou announced these figures at a meeting of the Council of Interior Ministers of the CIS countries on October 1, the Interior Ministry’s press service reports.

Kubrakou noted that migrants are actively using Belarus as a transit corridor when travelling west.

“The Republic pays increased attention to managing migration flows and successfully fulfils the tasks set out in the Declaration on Coordinated Migration Policy of the Commonwealth countries. The Interior Ministry, in cooperation with relevant stakeholders, is applying a wide range of measures aimed at improving the effectiveness of controls and preventing destabilisation.

In 2026, around 12,000 violations of migration legislation were identified, 3,000 foreign nationals were expelled from the country, and more than 2,000 decisions were made to deny entry to foreign citizens,” Kubrakou said.

According to the minister, the number of groups of illegal migrants detected in Belarus has decreased.
