Taliban Health Minister Visits Belarus To Exchange Expertise

Afghanistan’s Minister of Public Health, Nur Jalal Jalali, has arrived in Belarus with a delegation. The visit aims to develop cooperation in healthcare, the Afghan ministry said.

The delegation was received by Belarusian Deputy Health Minister Barys Andrasiuk. According to the Afghan side, he described the visit as important for developing bilateral cooperation.

During the visit, Jalali plans to meet with the leadership of Belarus’s Ministry of Health and visit Belarusian State Medical University, the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre for Cardiology, the N. N. Alexandrov National Cancer Centre of Belarus, the Republican Centre for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health, and the Minsk City Clinical Emergency Hospital. The programme also includes a state-owned pharmaceutical manufacturing enterprise, but the Afghan ministry has not identified it by name.

The sides intend to discuss the exchange of expertise in healthcare delivery, specialist training and pharmaceutical production, as well as opportunities to expand cooperation in specific areas of medicine.
