Cryptocurrencies Included Among Underlying Assets for Non-Deliverable OTC Financial Instruments

The Council of Ministers and the National Bank of Belarus, by joint Resolution No. 257/12 of May 23, approved a revised list of underlying assets for transactions involving non-deliverable over-the-counter financial instruments. The document was published today on the National Legal Internet Portal and enters into force upon publication.

The list includes:

• futures contracts and options;
• interest rates in the international capital market;
• stock index values;
• digital signs (tokens), including cryptocurrencies.

The updated list adds “digital signs (tokens), including cryptocurrencies”.
