Aliaksandr Lukashenka is visiting the ASB-Agro Gorodets joint-stock company today. In the 1980s, he headed the farm, which was then known as the Gorodets state farm.
Lukashenka arrived to inspect progress in implementing his instructions on the company’s development, issued a year ago. He last visited the enterprise in September 2025.
According to his press service, in May 2026, shares in ASB-Agro Gorodets were transferred to the economic management of the state-owned enterprise Mogilevoblgaz. A modernisation programme was developed, предусматривающий an investment of BYN 86.5 million in 2026-2027.
During this period, the farm built a breeding facility for 800 head of beef cattle. A total of 235 young Hereford cattle have already been brought to the facility. The programme also includes the construction of workshops, modernisation of a mineral fertiliser storage facility, construction of a calf rearing facility and silage pits, and reconstruction of a farm for fattening young cattle.
During his visit, Lukashenka said that the modernisation of Gorodets was part of a plan to develop the Shklou district, which is intended to become a model district.
“It should be, if not a model, then an example of the direction in which districts should develop,” he said.
