A 45-year-old man has been detained in Minsk on suspicion of stealing coffee and chocolate from stores belonging to two retail chains. The total value of the stolen goods exceeded 1,000 rubles.
The man was identified by criminal investigation officers from the Frunzensky District Department of Internal Affairs. He had previously been convicted of theft.
As the Minsk City Executive Committee’s Main Department of Internal Affairs reported, the Minsk resident entered stores as an ordinary customer, placed goods in a basket and left the sales area without paying. He kept some of the stolen goods and resold others.
Criminal cases have been opened over the thefts.
