Since the beginning of 2026, the prosecutor’s office has identified 24 cases of freight trucks from the European Union being refueled at unauthorized locations, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Belarus reports.
Twenty-four people, including 17 Belarusian citizens, were held administratively liable.
For example, one case of illegal refueling was identified on July 28 near the village of Minchiki in Berastavitsa district. At a parking area near a gas station, customs officers found that an EU-registered Volvo truck was being refueled from containers stored in a Ford vehicle. The Belarusian citizen driving the truck was fined 1,350 rubles.
Recall that as part of counter-sanctions, Belarus allows trucks registered in the European Union to refuel only at designated gas stations.
