Aliaksandr Lukashenka has signed a decree awarding the Order of the Mother to 239 women from all regions of Belarus and Minsk. The awards were granted for giving birth to and raising five or more children.
The recipients represent a wide range of professions, including employees of industrial and agricultural enterprises, forestry and housing and utility services, the energy sector, banking, insurance and social services, trade, communications and sports. The order was also awarded to employees of the border service, educational, healthcare and cultural institutions, religious organizations, individual entrepreneurs and homemakers.
According to Lukashenka’s press service, 91 of the recipients, the largest number, live in the Brest Region. They include Rudski kindergarten cook Natallia Helis, Pinsk Central Hospital nurse Alina Kazlouskaya, livestock worker at Parakhonskaye OJSC Valiantsina Kaliuta, border control officer with the 86th Border Group of the State Border Committee Natallia Liashuk, and laboratory assistant at a dairy farm of Agro-Motol OJSC Natallia Navakouskaya.
The Order of the Mother was also awarded to Gomselmash OJSC engineer Volha Kurytskaya, special education teacher from Hrodna Alena Artsisheuska, laboratory assistant at the Vitsebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine Yauheniya Fadzyeyenkava, florist with the Niasvizh housing and utility services Natallia Hubchyk, post office manager Volha Sviryda, foster mother with the education department of the Mstsislau District Executive Committee Alena Yarakova, agrochemist at the Minsk Greenhouse Complex Alena Chura, and process engineer at the Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant Yuliya Shostak.
