Belarus’s State Security Committee (KGB) has updated its list of “persons involved in terrorist activities.”
The list now includes 21 additional people: Hanna Strukava, Halina Fralova, Volha Baikouskaya, Volha Voshchanka, Dzmitry Barisevich, Ruslan Zubkou, Yury Ochkas, Liudmila Prakapenia, Natallia Chubkouskaya, Volha Stroyeva, Nadzeya Sychuhova, Aliaksandr Charniakovich, Viktar Yaumenenka, Arystarkh Krukouski, Aliaksandr Katlianik, Andrei Matsiuk, Siarhei Stasenka, Vadzim Kryvashayeu, Maksim Shabutski, Mikalai Tarasenka, and Aliaksandr Liubenchuk.
Aliaksandr Liubenchuk is a former journalist who has been convicted twice. In 2022, he was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of participating in an “extremist formation.” He was released in early 2025, but was detained again in September in connection with the so-called “Hajun case.” According to information from the Viasna Human Rights Centre, Liubenchuk was released from prison after his second sentence in May 2026.
It should be recalled that accusations of extremism and terrorism in Belarus are used to target opponents of the authorities and dissent more broadly.
